Of course, the most important point of interest in Monemvasia is its medieval castle, which is just a few minutes away from Locanda. A unique castle of unparalleled beauty that takes you back in time.
With stone cobbled streets, Byzantine churches, and mansions that seem to have remained unchanged over time, the castle town tells a story of centuries of glory and culture.
Elafonisos with its famous Simos beach, the impressive Kastania Cave with its magnificent stalactites and stalagmites, the unique Petrified Forest, and the port of Gerakas—also known as the Greek fjord—are also some of the excursions that visitors to the area can enjoy.
But Mystras, Gythio, Areopoli, Limeni, and Kyparissi are also charming destinations that are perfect for a day trip.
